Jewellery care
Quality lasts over time, but how you treat your jewelry still matters for how it ages.
There are three things you should be aware of when it comes to jewelry care. That is use, storage, and maintenance.
Use:
It's actually good to wear your jewellry often. Sterling silver naturally oxidizes over time, but regular wear of jewelry reduces this process.
However, if you're a regular swimmer or athlete, it's recommended to take off both silver and gold-plated jewelry when exercising. This is because both chlorine and the acid in sweat have a negative effect on silver and gold-plated jewelry in the long run. Over time, with regular use, this can lead to faster oxidation and wear.
We do want to emphasize, though, that you can generally jump in the pool and exercise while wearing our jewelry without issue. Our jewelry is made of precious metals, and it takes a lot before any noticeable effect can be seen.
Storage:
It's best to store jewellery in a cool and airtight place, such as a jewelry box, since air and moisture oxidize silver over time.
What you store your jewelry in also matters — some cheap foam types release sulfur gases and other gases as they break down, which damage plating and bond with silver. You should therefore pay extra attention to the materials of your jewelry box if it contains foam.
Maintenance:
When you wear your jewelry a lot, it may occasionally need to be cleaned. Here, we only recommend using mild chemicals and/or a silver polishing cloth. Or, if necessary, only using a soft brush.
